Father-Mother-Child

The full circle of life starts with a child being born, a family becoming eternally bonded through offspring.  It seems that the first child brings so much change, but also so much joy, that the desire to have more purpose and to grow as a family increasingly continues.  Elder Neil L. Anderson of the Quorom of the Twelve Apostles stated:

“I testify of the great blessing of children and of the happiness they will bring us in this life and in the eternities.”

Blood artist, Trevin Prince, has captured this moment in a joint blood painting with the O+ contribution from all three individuals.  It is one distinctly unique way to visually capture this loving relationship.  This value of family needs to be shared with more purpose of heart by all in order to help this world better understand and appreciate our eternal nature of family and the blessings it brings.  This great artist is doing just that and it inspires the rest of us.

How can you share the value of family through what you do everyday?

Two Year Study shows Vaccine Exposure is Not Associated with Autism

Ironically, today I took my son to his six month wellness visit where he received his round of boosters for every vaccine available for his age.  I gladly had them administered to him because I know that they may some day save his life.  Within the last hundred years of medical advancements, I’m not one to fully support every single drug out there on the market that claims it can cure this or that; but the ability we have to protect ourselves from a myriad of diseases is insurmountable!  Study upon study has shown the benefit of vaccines bolstering our immune systems to support the defense against deadly diseases and other illnesses and most insurance plans cover them all.  So why would anyone hesitate to receive them?  Here, another study has shown that the claim that autism is caused by vaccines is simply not true.  Please educate yourself and your loves ones for it may save their life one day.

Celebrating Marriage: A Child Speaks Out

The Supreme Court started hearing  arguments this week on the marriage cases concerning Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act.  Gatherings and celebrations for and against the current and proposed definitions of marriage have been taking place.

I think we can all agree that our future is in the hands of our children, and the world we raise them in affects their growth.  Why don’t we consider the children of this world and what their rights are?  How they will be affected by our choices?

Read this young girl’s view on her rights through the defense of marriage and what every child’s inalienable rights are.

3 Parenting Myths Debunked

Everyone…if you have children, don’t you just wish they would do what you say?!!  AHH!!  My little one is only 5 1/2 months old right now but I sure am “looking forward” to those days ahead when I just might scream because he won’t listen to me–even when I try to teach him so much out of love and patience.  Well, I have discovered a wonderful lady, Nicholeen Peck, who teaches parents how to teach their own children how to govern themselves.  I praise heaven that I have learned what I have before my son has grown.  Based upon Christian principles and simply following through, her methods are vital for all children to grow up in wonderful environments where they can learn for themselves how to be good.  And it’s SO much more than that.

The 1st key to self-government is to assess your actions continuously and use the power of calm.  If you want a better family relationship with your children, see my recommended link “Parenting and Family Support Catalog” along with Nicholeen’s site:  teachingselfgovernment.com

I also thought this article (link below) was fabulous too in preparing the mindset of how we as parents can evaluate our relationships with our children.

Earthly Father, Heavenly Father

As a new parent I can say I more fully understand the meaning of providing and what it takes to ensure that my son is taken care of, his needs are met, and he is loved.  It is the same with all the blessings that our Heavenly Father pours out upon us and we are at time oblivious to all that he does because we can only see it from our point of view.  Watch this video and strive to remember what your Lord has done for you as you in turn do all that you can for your family.
